A facet is one side of something that is many-sided, especially a cut gem.
Multifaceted is defined as having many facets.
A while ago, I believed God wanted me to take notice of diamonds. I love the wedding set that my husband gave me, not just because it came from the love of my life in the marriage tradition of receiving rings. It is much deeper than that. I often gaze at the diamonds in awe and sometimes I intentionally place my hand in direct sunlight to see how the diamonds refract the light on different objects around me. It is truly breathtaking how the small stones can reflect light so beautifully. Diamonds are multifaceted. It is a fact that as light enters the diamond and reflects on each facet, it can create endless reflections. Isn’t that amazing???
The same is true about us! Psalm 139:14 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made”, which means we are not just one-dimensional beings. God made us multi-faceted. Our minds were created to be multidimensional, meaning we have many different attributes, perspectives, or parts. These parts, perspectives, and personalities make each of us unique. They make us beautiful beings that were knit together by the Father for his good purpose. I love that.
Since each of us was created with various gifts, talents, personalities, and perspectives, we can amass greatness. We are not the proverbial one-dimensional beings with the ability to only do or achieve one thing in life or be great at a single endeavor.
What’s my point? I’m glad you asked, friend! (Smile) Have you tapped into your multifaceted potential? Are you aware of your various God-given attributes, talents, gifts, and abilities that can bless you and the world around you?
Do you often feel unproductive, inefficient, or even like you’ve been missing something that God wants for you and yet you cannot figure out what it is? I’ve felt that way so many times and for so many years. It was not until God began to open my eyes to the diamond that I realized that, like the diamond, I’m multifaceted. I have many sides, perspectives, and rays of sunshine built into my core. All gifts and skills from the father that I had yet to tap into. Blogging is one of my newly discovered facets. Who knew???
I choose to believe that each of us uniquely is a diamond. My challenge to you as the reader of this post is to write out the things you’re passionate about, your abilities, and your gifts. I think you will discover some interesting facets that you possess and have not tapped into using. I would love to hear about your multifaceted discoveries, so please leave me a comment below.
Prayer: Father, thank you for creating us to be multifaceted. Thank you for the gifts and vision poured into us before we were birthed into the earth. Please bless those reading this blog to have the courage to tap into something new and shine like the diamond that you created us all to be. Amen.
